Hello there! I hope you had an amazing Christmas holiday (if you celebrate it), or at the very least enjoyed some time off! This was my first holiday living in Northern California, and my honey and I decided to spend Christmas night in San Francisco. We found a great deal on a room at the Grand Hyatt in Union Square and explored the area for the evening. Because it was a last-minute idea we did not have time to make dinner reservations, but we did enjoy some great apps + cocktails at the hotel bar.
Before heading back to our room, we took a stroll around Union Square for the famous Christmas tree photo-op. It was a chilly night out, but I love any excuse to wear my favorite new coat and exploring this fantastic city. We walked around for a little while and also had to check out the annual holiday display inside the classic Westin St. Frances hotel *another quintessential stop in SF during the holidays* We got back to our hotel room and ordered room service for a pretty penny. When in Rome..
I read my book for a bit (Eleanor & Park) and admired the view of the night skyline. It was SO gorgeous from the 14th floor, but unfortunately the glare on the window was too much for my camera to handle. I watched Forensic Files before falling asleep like a happy camper in the plush king size bed! In the morning we had Starbucks and then headed out to do some shopping at Macy’s & Lush Cosmetics! It was so perfect that the city was not too crowded. We had a really had a great time during our mini staycation! If you are looking to stay in the Union Square area, I highly recommend staying at the Grand Hyatt. We should all take some time to relax in our own backyard from time to time!
Tomorrow I am heading home to San Diego for a few days and can’t wait for more time to lay low and soak in the end of this crazy year! More photos and blog posts coming soon.
